Is the Kindle worth it ?

I am trying to see what the big deal is about this electronic book device. Is it worth the money I mean the books are cheaper, but what happens to the books does it just keep them or do you have so long to read them?Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation

    I LOVE my Kindle. And you can keep the books forever. I would recommend one :)

    Where did you get you Kindle? Was it really expensive or reasonably priced?
